Rudiments
The exhibition entitled: "Rudiments" is the result of the activities of the creators focused around the artistic and social Silesium Project. Like the previous exhibitions entitled "Palimpsest" and "Ideoforms", the present exhibition presents the realizations of new artistic concepts in relation to the Lower Silesian region, its history and culture. The assumption adopted by the artists is to re-identify the relationship between an idea and a form that not only expresses the idea, but also has a strong creative potential. The present experience of inflation of the relationship between idea, content and form is the result of many factors, including "technological acceleration" and the evolution of social structures. Idea and form are not always connectable or even recognizable. We even notice that the forms function by themselves, detached from their original ideas. Therefore, there is a need to find them, to get to the rudiment. Rudiments in the Silesium project are understood broadly. On the one hand, as the basic and fundamental qualities in the ideological and moral assumptions of the generations inhabiting the Lower Silesia region, in cultural matters such as architecture, infrastructure, utility items, as well as in the ecological (nature, atmosphere), geological, endemic matter that determines the specific development of the region (coal deposits). , granite, uranium, silver or gold). On the other hand, the rudiment appears as a residual, state of destruction and degradation. Performing abundantly in Lower Silesia, it constantly inspires artists and is the object of their creative interests.
