NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF PAINTING MAY 26 - 27, 2022
Auditorium CSU ASP WROCŁAW
The title of the symposium, as well as the accompanying exhibition, refers to the changes that have been taking place in many areas of life in recent years - as a result of, among others, pandemic, inflation, outbreak of war. Their intensification and stratification entails a series of re-evaluations in social and cultural life and in everyday existence.
This also applies to the art world, which, through its sensitivity and immanence, usually perceives earlier and more. Sometimes he anticipates, sometimes creates and sometimes reports - but he always reaches for the truth deeply, using only known methods.
While the exhibition is to be a kind of confrontation and an attempt to define the painting of the Wrocław community gathered around the Academy over the last few years, the symposium would cover similar issues at a similar time, but already on a national scale. Perhaps it will be possible to establish which trends continue and which have been abandoned. What is the spiritual climate of creative environments and how do they deal with crises that usually generate new values and new forms - and which it would be good to define if it turns out that they actually did exist.
